Lanterns

This picture came to my mind a long time ago, a few years ago, when I took one very atmospheric photo. But, as usual, the hands did not reach the realization. Here, now we've arrived.
While working on the painting, I thought about the process of routinization of a miracle or a nightmare. All my life I thought that I would never see a war in Europe, and even in my country. Now, at the beginning of 2023, listening to the news about another missile strike that hit a residential building, I tiredly think: "Well, here it is again ...". Horror was replaced by acceptance, the nightmare became routine. How quickly people come to terms with new data in their lives, how quickly they accept new conditions of the game. "Man gets used to everything." It's probably for the best. Whatever happens to our world, we will always find a new foothold, our eyes will get used to the darkness, and we will see light in it.
